Start here: study NIEVA inside your AI assistant
The NIEVA connector gives your AI assistant (Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT or Codex) access to the academy's open courses. You can:
- Search by meaning: ask in your own words and find the exact lesson.
- Read the full lesson: complete text and code, no summaries.
- Study with NIEVA: it proposes the guides that teach your topic and takes you through a whole guide, lesson by lesson, with a progress board so you can pick up whenever you want.
- Apply it to your project in the same chat.
No tokens or keys: copy one address and sign in with your NIEVA account.
The golden rule: start every chat by naming the connector, for example "Use the NIEVA connector and help me study Terraform". If you don't, your assistant may answer from memory without opening the lessons.
If you are enrolled in a bootcamp, it also opens its workbook, as long as you have access to the bootcamp and up to 30 workbook lessons a day.
What it does not do: it can't see your personal data or payments, can't open workbooks of bootcamps you are not enrolled in and can't change anything. It's read-only.
Your account includes up to 300 lookups and 100 lessons a day.

How NIEVA works with you
NIEVA is also the name of the academy's AI teacher.
- You say what you want to learn, in your own words.
- NIEVA finds the guides that teach it, proposes 2 to 4 with their level and number of lessons, and recommends one.
- It asks how you want to study: the whole guide, only the lessons on that topic, or one specific question.
- It teaches you lesson by lesson. It reads the full lesson (not a summary) and explains it: the whole system first, then a diagram, an everyday analogy and a short question to check it clicked. It waits for your answer before moving on.
- It tracks your progress on a board: the syllabus, what you've covered and your key takeaways. With it you pick up another day where you left off.
During a lesson
Between lessons you can:
- Ask anything or ask for another example.
- Paste screenshots, code or errors so it helps with your case.
- Ask to jump to the hands-on part if you already got the theory.
- Ask it to go slower or faster, or tell it your level and stack so it adapts the examples.
- Ask for the interview-style answer to what you just covered.
Your progress board
When you take a whole guide, NIEVA creates a board with the syllabus, the lessons you've covered and your key takeaways:
- In Claude: an artifact.
- In ChatGPT: a canvas.
- In Claude Code and Codex: a file in your folder.
To pick up another day, open a new chat, write "Use the NIEVA connector and continue my … course" and have your board at hand. NIEVA continues at the first unchecked lesson.
By assistant
- Claude: besides typing, NIEVA's + menu has Course with NIEVA (a whole guide) and Learn with NIEVA (one lesson).
- ChatGPT: pick NIEVA from the chat's + button, then type your request.
- Claude Code and Codex: great for learning and applying it to your repo in the same session.
What you can ask
Study a whole guide
NIEVA sets up your board and takes you from the first lesson to the last.
- "Use the NIEVA connector and help me study Terraform."
- "Use the NIEVA connector: I want to take the whole Docker guide."
- "Use the NIEVA connector and continue my Terraform course." (with your board at hand)
Learn one topic
It finds the lessons that teach it and explains it without making you take the whole guide.
- "Use the NIEVA connector and explain how middleware works in FastAPI."
- "Use the NIEVA connector and teach me only the state part of Terraform."
- "Use the NIEVA connector and explain RAG as if I'd never used a vector database."
Solve a question or an error
It finds the exact section of the lesson and answers with what it says.
- "Search NIEVA for why my frontend says failed to fetch because of CORS and tell me how to fix it."
- "What does NIEVA say about when to create an index in PostgreSQL?"
- "Search NIEVA for the lesson that explains OIDC with GitHub Actions."
Apply it to your project
Paste your code or your error and ask it to use what the lesson teaches.
- "Using what NIEVA teaches about vector databases, review this code and tell me what you'd improve."
- "Use NIEVA's lesson on GitHub Actions and build the pipeline for this repo."
- "Using NIEVA's Terraform guide, review my main.tf and tell me what you'd do differently."
Prepare for interviews
It gives you model answers you can say out loud and asks you questions the way an interviewer would.
- "Using NIEVA's lesson on Git, ask me 5 technical-interview questions and grade my answers."
- "Use NIEVA and give me the interview answer for what an index is."
Plan your studying
- "Build me a 2-week study plan to learn RAG with NIEVA's lessons."
- "Summarize in a table the differences between the design patterns NIEVA explains."
Tips to get more out of it
- One topic per chat. Very long chats lose context.
- Tell it your level and goal ("I'm a junior backend dev preparing for interviews").
- Ask for the source: "which lesson covers this?" takes you to the exact lesson in NIEVA.
- Set NIEVA's tools to "Always allow": they only read and never change anything.
Troubleshooting
- It answered without using NIEVA. If you don't see NIEVA's tool in the reply, it answered from memory. Ask again starting with "Use the NIEVA connector…" and check that NIEVA is on in that chat.
- NIEVA doesn't show up in the tools menu. Check under Settings → Connectors that it says "Connected". If it says "Connect", click it and sign in again.
- It asks me to sign in again. That happens if you disconnected the app from your profile or haven't used it in a long while. Connect again.
- "Daily limit reached". You hit today's cap (300 lookups or 100 lessons). It resets within 24 hours.
- "The academy's connector is busy". Many people are using it at once. Wait a few seconds and ask the same thing again.
- I asked for my bootcamp workbook and got "Course not found". The connector opens the workbook only while you have access to the bootcamp on the site. If you just enrolled, wait a minute and ask again; if your access ended, it no longer shows up.
- I don't see "Add custom connector". Your Claude plan needs to allow custom connectors.
- Codex says "authentication complete" but the chat doesn't see NIEVA. Update the app, click Authenticate again and open a new chat.
- The browser says it can't connect to 127.0.0.1. Codex or Claude Code stopped waiting. Close that tab, click Authenticate again and click Allow right away.
- I want to disconnect it. In your NIEVA profile, under Connected apps, click Disconnect.
